Pure Magic
This beautiful PBS documentary and winner of a 2005 Gracie Allen Award, is a moving look at the joyous but volatile mother-daughter relationship. The program profiles Katherine Cheng and her four adult daughters, Amy, Anna, Alice and Audrey. Through their words we learn, first hand, about the complexities of mothers and daughters. We also see the intense love and devotion this group of women have for each other and especially for their mother. Their story is complemented by a diverse chorus of women's voices that includes real estate dynamo Barbara Corcoran; television producer Susan Fales-Hill and Carol Weston, an expert on teenage girls. Each of them shares loving recollections of their own mothers.

Whether difficult and complicated or based on friendship and admiration, the mother-daughter bond is one of the most important relationships in a woman's life and Pure Magic celebrates it.
